The new report says adoption now covers more than 396,000 businesses, a 52% jump, according to NewsBytes.PH. Among adopters, 74% reported productivity gains and 68% said AI increased revenue.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2 id=\"mostly-basic-use-and-hard-to-measure\">Mostly basic use, and hard to measure\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Seventy percent of adopters still mainly use basic tools such as public chatbots and ready-made productivity apps, down from 78% last year. Only 12% use advanced setups involving custom AI, multiple models or agentic systems, up from 8%. Measurement is a weak spot too: Inquirer reports that only 46% of businesses are confident they can measure AI's return on investment, and just 14% apply a clearly defined success framework consistently.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch2 id=\"skills-are-still-the-bottleneck\">Skills are still the bottleneck\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>A shortage of AI and digital skills was the top barrier, cited by 47% of businesses, followed by technical or data issues (39%), lack of funds (36%) and limited workforce capacity (33%). Businesses estimated only 31% of their staff are confident with advanced AI tools, and only 24% are confident judging whether sensitive data can be processed by AI in a compliant way. That last number matters in a country where data residency rules increasingly shape where AI workloads can run.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Agentic AI is still new to most companies.
